Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and strengthening internal controls. This individual will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, support month-end close, and assist with financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys collaborating across teams in a growth-stage organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for high-risk accounts.
- Manage the ARR (annual recurring revenue) schedule to accurately capture revenue streams from subscription contracts.
- Process internal expense reimbursements and payments to vendors.
- Cash application for checks received by customers and monitoring of past due Accounts Receivables.
- Effective cash flow management and accurate forecasting.
- Manage the commercial Order Tracker to capture bookings in a timely manner.
- Generate customer invoices and setup recurring invoices for multi-year subscription contracts.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting to management and external stakeholders.
- Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other consultants as needed.
- Manage payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Assist with special projects such as system implementations, new revenue streams, or M&A integration.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to Software Accounting (SaaS) for a healthcare technology company.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar) and Excel proficiency.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
